-
Visit as many as you can, find the meeting, times and collective that fits
-
Don't restrict to one network, most good networkers visit 2-4 networks a month
Your pitch
-
At networking you will be asked: What do you do? Who's your ideal referral & How can I help? Make sure you have answers to this and practise
-
And don't make it too techy or use words only relevant to someone in your sector
Listen, the 80/20 rule
-
Networking is about making good connections, so listen to others first
-
Please remember how you made them feel, so be be polite and listening
-
By listening you can discover ways on how best you could work with them or support
Danger of chit chat!
-
Chit chat is good, but you're also there to network. So make sure you ask: what's new? How can you help & support?
-
Also ask how their week was, any dramas you could support them with
-
Chit chat, but don;t forget to talk shop!
The follow up
-
So, you've had some good conversations, potential link up and intros to make. Make sure you do them, otherwise there was no point to going and you'll be seen as not someone that follows up!
-
Also make nice comments on socials too
Power of the 1 to 1
-
Having meet a couple of people you connected with at networking it's important to arrange that 1 to 1.
-
Over an hour, listen to their journey, business aims and needs, then you do the same, then hopefully create a connection
